Mario Balotelli Is Having a Statue of Himself Made for His House in Italy

This guy...

None

Mario Balotelli must think awfully highly of himself. So highly that, according to Italian artist Livio Scarpella, the 22-year-old AC Milan striker is preparing to do something that most athletes have to wait their entire careers to do—he's going to have a statue built in his honor. And, he doesn't want just any old statue, either. He wants a statue that depicts him in the same exact pose that he struck after scoring a goal against Germany during the Euro 2012 semifinal (as seen above) so that he can display it at his home in Italy.

"I received the commission," Scarpella said recently, "but have never actually met Balotelli so I am working from photographs. I presented various sketches, but Mario wanted to be immortalized in the pose after a goal: muscles in evidence and an expression to challenge the opponents."

"Muscles in evidence and an expression to challenge the opponents"? Wow. Intense! But, that's not all.

"I imagined him as an athlete from ancient times," Scarpella continued. "The statue will be between the classic and pop style, in platinum and colored bronze with the eyes made of precious stones."

Double wow. This guy never ceases to amaze us.
