Jeremy Lin Is Glad He Wasn't Named an NBA All-Star This Year

J-Lin leads the league in self-awareness.

Jeremy Lin knows he's not an NBA All-Star. Not yet, at least. So, he's not worried about the fact that he didn't get voted to play in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. In fact, as he explained late yesterday, he's actually glad that he finished 35,000 votes behind fellow Western Conference point guard Chris Paul in the All-Star fan voting.

"I'm kind of thankful I didn't get voted," he said. "I want to make sure I'm fully, fully deserving of it when I play. And, I didn't feel like that was the case this year."

We agree with Lin. He should not have been invited to play in the ASG this season. But, it's pretty remarkable that he's self-aware enough to say it instead of leaving us to point it out. And, it's why we think he'll make it to the ASG eventually. It's just a matter of time.
