Dwight Howard Confesses to Getting Tired After Spending 10 Minutes On the Court

The conditioning struggle.

Oh boy, Kobe Bryant isn't going to like what Dwight Howard said to the Los Angeles Times. After all the time and effort that the Lakers invested in acquiring Howard, the 27-year-old center still won't verbally commit to the Lake Show beyond this season. “I’m here right now, so there’s no need for me to have one foot in and one foot out,” D12 said. “I’m here. I’m going to do everything I can to help this team win right now, and that’s the only thing that matters.” Hmm. Not the most reassuring message for the team's general manager, Mitch Kupchak, right?

But Dwight wasn't done there. In a confession that could be a red flag for any possible NBA teams thinking about trying to attract him over the offseason, Howard spoke about his health and, well, let's just say it's not too encouraging.

“I’m nowhere near who I was in Orlando,” he said. “In Orlando, I could play 40 minutes and never get tired. Here I give you about 10 minutes.”

Given D12's recent history with injury problems, is a Howard "in tip-top shape" even possible anymore?
