If you're a baseball player who's finally going to get a chance to play in the big leagues, there's a bunch of things you should do: keep in shape, study the game, not shoot yourself in the leg. Maybe the last one isn't a top priority, but it pretty much goes without saying. However, Red Sox prospect Bryce Brentz did it, and now he has a bullet exit wound to show for it. The outfielder shot himself in the leg while cleaning his gun two weeks ago.

The Red Sox's General Manager, Ben Cherington, said Brentz will be OK. However, Brentz will have to deal with missing the start of the Red Sox's camp (which is tomorrow) and the fact that his reputation is shot has taken a hit.
