A Five-Star College Football Recruit's Mom Stole His Signing Papers Today to Try and Force Him to Go to a Different School

Earlier today, five-star college football recruit Alex Collins was supposed to announce his intention to attend the University of Arkansas in the fall. He'd already made a verbal commitment to the school on Monday. But, the running back from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. was scheduled to sign his National Letter of Intent during a ceremony at his high school this morning.

That ceremony was cancelled shortly before it was supposed to start, though. And, why was it cancelled? Well, because it seems that Collins' mother stole his NLI at the last minute and left the school with it. She reportedly isn't in support of her son leaving Florida to play football in Arkansas.

CBS Sports is reporting that Collins will still sign with the Razorbacks sometime later today. But, for now, Arkansas coaches have to hold their breath and hope—make that, pray—that Collins' mom comes around to the idea of him playing outside the state of Florida. What a crazy turn of events.
