1969 Lola T70 Mk III B Driven by Steve McQueen in "Le Mans" Expected to Fetch $1M at Auction

Steve McQueen’s iconic 1969 Lola T70 MKIII B from the iconic film "Le Mans" is hitting the auction block at SilverstoneAuctions’ Race Retro & Classic Car Sale this February 23rd. One of five Lola T70's (two MkIII's and three MkIIIB's) used in the film, the ride is expected to fetch between $887,000 and $1 million at the event. Re-designed to look like a Gulf-Porsche 917 for a crash sequence in the film, the ride has been completely rebuilt into a European sports racing machine the T70 comes complete with current FIA papers, a brand new engine and differential, and a rebuilt gearbox.
