The Next Gen Audi A8 Could Have an Autonomous Mode

Kick back and enjoy the traffic.

Traffic sucks. Sadly, it's a fact of life, and it just seems to be getting worse. Luckily for people who have around $95,000 to spend on a hulking German luxury car, the next generation Audi A8 is poised to have an autonomous mode for high-traffic driving in 2016. It will still need a human in the driver's seat for oversight, and will not be able to handle higher speeds.

Expect the autonomous mode to be an expensive option, but not stupid expensive, as Audi has said that it will not require major changes to the A8's steering or braking components. Of course, assuming that this technology has a successful run in the A8, we will no doubt see it trickle down throughout the rest of Audi's line-up.
