The Mayor of Denver Injured Himself Yesterday Right Before He Attempted to Do the Ray Lewis Dance

Ouch.

In the days leading up to the Broncos/Ravens playoff game last Saturday, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made a friendly wager. If the Broncos lost, Mayor Hancock agreed to do the Ray Lewis dance in front of everyone in Denver. And, of course, the Broncos did lose, so Mayor Hancock was planning on doing the dance yesterday. However, according to his spokeswoman, the mayor called off the dance. But, it's not because he didn't want to pay off his bet. No, no. Instead, it's because he got hurt "during pre-game warm-ups."

SMH. That's right. In addition to watching his Broncos lose over the weekend, Mayor Hancock also sustained an injury warming up for his Ray Lewis dance. But, don't worry. His spokeswoman says that he's "expected to be on the field in the second half, ready to carry out the game plan and fulfill his end of the wager." We're not exactly sure what that means, but we think it means that he'll do the dance at some point in the near future. He's made bets like this in the past and paid them off, most recently rocking a Tom Brady jersey to a Nuggets game after the Broncos lost to the Patriots in the playoffs last season (peep the thumbs to see him wearing it). So, stay tuned. Sooner or later, this dance is still gonna happen.
