It's no secret that Porsche wants to build a mid-engined supercar that will take on the Italian competition at Ferrari, and that it will be called the 960. We're even pretty sure it will looks a lot like the 916 RSR concept from the 2011 NAIAS. None of that information was new, but this information is:

The 960 will be powered by a 3.9L quad-turbo boxer-eight, that puts out 650 hp through a seven speed dual-clutch semi-automatic transmission and Porsche's sporty all wheel drive system. It's starting to sound like someone crammed two Subaru STIs into a sexy, mid-engined body. Porsche is expecting to sell 3,000 to 4,000 of these annually starting in 2017.
