The 25 Greatest Centers in NBA History Manny Rubio / USA TODAY Sports

19. Bob Lanier

Team(s): Pistons, Bucks
Career Stats: 20.1 PPG 10.1 RPG 3.1 APG 1.1 SPG 1.5 BPG
Accomplishments: 8x All-Star, Member of the Hall of Fame

When you walk into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA, one of the first thing you see are Lanier's size 22 sneakers. Needless to say, Big Bob Lanier was, well, big. He battled endless knee surgeries and still put up a double-double for his career. Don't let his big frame fool you, Lanier was nice on the offensive end, armed with a hook shot, a mid-range shot, and a nose for the ball. He never played in an NBA Finals, but what's more important is his work after his career was over. Bob remains an ambassador to the game, helping launch the NBA's Stay in School program in 1989.
