The 25 Greatest Brothers in Sports History

5. Bruce and Clay Matthews

Sport: Football
Accomplishments: Bruce: 14-time Pro Bowler, NFL Hall of Fame inductee; Clay: 278 games played in 19 seasons (17th most in NFL history)

Bruce is considered by many as the greatest offensive lineman in the history of the NFL, having been named to 14 Pro Bowls in his incredible career. While Brett Favre got all the press for his consecutive games streak, the fact that Matthews was able to start 229 games in a row (the entire length of his career) without missing a game is one of the more remarkable stats in football. His brother Clay, whose son now roams the field for the Packers, was a great player in his own right. He played for a remarkable 19 years, making four Pro Bowls as a member of the Cleveland Browns.
