On Tuesday, Rex Ryan finally appeared before reporters to address them for the first time since the end of the 2012-13 NFL season. He talked about a little bit of everything related to the Jets organization, from his job security to the "fresh start" that he wants to use to try and get back into the playoffs next season. But, he discussed more than just football. One reporter also asked the Jets head coach about the weird tattoo that he appears to have on his right arm featuring his wife in a Mark Sanchez jersey. And, Ryan had a pretty funny response to the question.
"There's a question—is that a real tattoo or not?" he said. "I'll keep you guessing. It's funny. It's a tattoo I've had going on three years now. I know what you're thinking. Obviously, if Sanchez doesn't play well, the number is changing. That's pretty much a given."
So, there you have it. All indications are that the tat is real and that, should Mark Sanchez get benched again next season, the number on the jersey will be changed. Case closed! Now, can we all move on?
