Up early on this fine January 1? Looking for the latest auto news? Chew on this: Ferrari may give its famed California Coupé-cabriolet a turbo engine. The next generation California is likely to go on sale 2014/2015 and will feature a raised bonnet line and extra cooling vents. These are signs of the potential use of a turbo engine V8 not dissimilar to what is already in use with the Maserati Quattroporte's twin-turbo 3.8-liter.
Though the new engine has appeared already in a Maserati, Ferrari insists it is all theirs. Ferrari's mid-engined cars are on a five-year replacement cycle. Not quite new year, new engine, but pretty damn close.
