A project in development over the last decade by the MetroNapoli of Naples is setting out to enhance the experience of everyday commuters, making grand exhibitions available in their stations. Putting over 180 works of art by more than 90 artists and architects including Alessandro Mendini, Anish Kapoor, Gae Aulenti, Karim Rashid, and Sol LeWitt, on display in 13 metro stations, the project has turned the stations of Naples into a sort of art museum in it's own right. Click through the thumbs above for a look at some the stations, the most recent of which, Metro Toledo (last three images), was named one of The Daily Telegraph‘s most impressive underground stations in Europe.
