David Beckham is on the move. About a year after he toiled with the idea of signing a contract with the French club Paris Saint-Germain, Becks just announced that he has signed a five-month contract and will join PSG immediately.

"It's something I'm excited about and now it has finally happened," he said during a press conference earlier today. "I am very lucky because I got more offers than I had in my career. I chose Paris because I can see what the club is trying to do. Now there is a club that is going to have a lot of success over the next 10, 15, 20 years. To be part of something with this growth is exciting to me."

Although he'll only be with the team for a short time, Beckham said he hopes his experience will help Paris Saint-Germain be successful in the Champions League.

"I don't expect to come into this team and play in every single game," he said. "I don't expect to start. I have to work for that. It is a bonus they are in the Champions League. I've been lucky to win it in the past and I know how important it is for clubs."

He didn't announce an exact date, but Beckham said he will make his debut for PSG sometime soon. He also announced that he'll be donating much of his PSG salary to a children's charity located in France. Good for him.
