Usually, when we stories about burning cars, it's either some half-assed tuning job on a Civic, or an Italian supercar. Ze Germans don't seem to be willing to sell a car that has a spontaneous combustion issue. That's why we were surprised to learn that at the Parx Supercar Show in Mumbai, India, an Audi R8 decided that it was going to self destruct under all the pressure of being the center of attention. Let's not forget, however, that the R8 is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo's platform, and therefore does have some fiery Italian blood in it.
Audi of India's chief was aslo there in an R8 which did not immolate.
On a somewhat unrelated note, we like the fact that all of the police officers and firemen are dressed like English policemen and firemen from 1943.
