Enjoy the NFL while you can! Because, according to one Ravens player who will be taking part in the Super Bowl next Sunday, the league isn't going to be around in 30 years.
Recently, Baltimore safety Bernard Pollard—who made headlines last week for calling Tom Brady out for taking a cheap shot at Ed Reed—was asked about some of the rule changes the NFL has made in order to try and make pro football safer. And, he revealed that he dislikes all of the new rules and believes that, ultimately, they will kill the NFL.
"Thirty years from now, I don't think it will be in existence," he said. "I could be wrong. It's just my opinion, but I think with the direction things are going—where NFL [rule makers] want to lighten up, and they're throwing flags and everything else—there's going to come a point where fans are going to get fed up with it. Guys are getting fined and they're talking about, 'Let's take away the strike zone' and 'Take the pads off' or 'Take the helmets off.' It's going to be a thing where fans aren't going to want to watch it anymore."
