It would be great if we didn't have to be bothered with the annoying and boring parts of driving, like finding a parking spot in a crowded garage. Audi agrees, and created this smartphone app/autonomous A7combo to solve that particular problem. While we're impressed with the engineering and problem solving demonstrated here, this does raise some other problems:

  • If your phone dies while you're out shopping/seeing a movie/visiting a brothel, you have no idea where you car is.
  • Cars don't have opposable thumbs, and are therefore incapable of taking the little ticket from the stupid machine that's always uncomfortable to reach for, no matter how close you pull up.
  • If all the spots are taken, the car will just circle aimlessly like a gas-guzzling goldfish.
