After being sidelined with injuries that prevented him from playing for most of the last two seasons, things were finally looking up for Cavaliers big man Anderson Varejao this year. Through December 18, he was averaging 14.1 points and 14.4 rebounds per game, both career highs. But then, he suffered a hamstring injury that required surgery and six to eight weeks of rest and rehab. Sucks, right?

But, unfortunately, that's not the end of the bad news for Varejao. In addition to the hamstring injury, doctors also just discovered that he developed a blood clot in his lung following the surgery that will require him to spend the next three months on blood thinners. As a result, he will not be able to play again this season. Like we said, sucks, right?
