The thing that most people don't realize about giant wings on cars like the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series or any of these GT3 racers is that they actually serve a huge function: keeping the car on the ground. They create a large amount of downforce to push the rear end snugly against the pavement, preventing it from sliding around. The Ferrari 458 GT3 prototype was recently seen testing at the Adria International Raceway in Italy with a few updates from last year's car. The power comes from an engine similar to the 458 Italia, but goes up to 9,000 rpm and is limited to 550 horsepower.
