Maserati's quest to rule the luxury market requires aggressive model expansion. And, with that expansion, aggressive competition. In 2015, Maserati plans to unveil the GranSport—a Porsche 911 rival. Harld Wester, the boss of Maserat, told Autocar that 100% representation in the luxury market was not possible without a mid-engined sports car.
The company plans to sell 50,000 cars a year by 2015. Only 6,159 were delivered last year.
