Ford is looking to, by using innovative new engines and cutting 700 to 750 lbs from the weight of the F-150, better its fuel economy by 15 to 20%. The weight drop will be due to extensive use of aluminum on the doors, fenders, cab, and tailgate, along with a large chassis redesign.

Engine-wise, expect to the EcoBoost line up expand, and a hybrid option that will be jointly developed with Toyota.
