At the end of the day, Dwight Howard wants to win a championship. Plain and simple. It's the goal of every NBA player that enters the league. As Howard puts it, “you only get one shot,” so can you blame him for pursuing arguably his best option in joining the Los Angeles Lakers over the summer? But even in such a beneficial situation with Kobe Bryant and the oft-injured Steve Nash, D12 won't rule out bolting out of L.A. for an even better chance at the chip.

In a piece for Ball Don't Lie, writer Dan Devine explores how Howard could be willing to leave the Lakers next summer.  During a recent interview with John Denton of the Magic official website, DH said the following:

“So I want to do it the best that I can and I’m going to take everything in I can to get what I can out of the NBA. Which, for me, is winning a championship. So if I have to play on another team or do whatever I have to do to get one, that’s my goal. This is my passion, so I’ll continue to fight.”

It's hard to believe that he would leave a legendary franchise like the Lakers in a city like Los Angeles, but sometimes, you never know what to expect from Howard.
