After starting the season with a dismal 1-4 record, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly fired head coach Mike Brown. There have been rumors of Brown being on the hot seat ever since the Lakers were demolished by the Oklahoma City Thunder, 4-1, in the second round of last season's playoffs. Things began to intensify when the Lakers dropped four of their first five games this season despite acquiring All-Star additions Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

Kobe Bryant gave Brown the now-infamous death stare during the team's 86-95 loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. Yesterday, the Black Mamba tried to calm things down by voicing his support of Brown and saying people looked too deeply into the stare because they must be "bored." However, less than 24 hours later Brown is out of a job. He coached the Lakers to a 42-29 record during his tenure.
