Team(s)Cleveland Cavs, San Antonio Spurs
Like Christian Laettner, Ferry had a great college career at Duke, being named the 1989 College Player of the Year, and was dubbed "the next Larry Bird." So, naturally the Clippers took him with the second pick (yes, the second overall), but Ferry refused to play for them and took his talents to Italy. Upon his return to the States a year later—in one of the Clippers' smartest moves—they traded him to Cleveland for Ron Harper. The Cavs then signed him to a guaranteed 10-year/$40 million deal. He continued to stink up NBA arenas for the remainder of his career and as GM of the Cavs he refused to trade JJ Hickson for Amar'e Stoudemire the year before LeBron's decision. Need we say more?
