In the 1940s, Kia was known for bicycles. In fact, the company began by producing steel tubing and other bicycle parts. Now, under the lead of designer Peter Schreyer, Kia has released two new urban bikes.

The K Velo series includes a utilitarian City bike and a "performance-oriented" Speed bike. Both are build with aluminum frames and ride on 20-inch wheels. The City runs on an 11 gear hub system and includes a useful basket. Both bikes are aimed at easing urban congestion.
