Hector "Macho" Camacho, who won four different WBC and WBO boxing championships during his storied career, was shot in the face by an unknown assailant as he sat inside of a car in Puerto Rico yesterday. According to a police report, Camacho and another man were both struck when a gunman approached the vehicle and fired several shots. The other man was killed in the attack. But, Camacho is in critical but stable condition right now at a local hospital.

He's not out of the woods yet, though. Doctors say that the bullet that hit him entered his jaw, exited out the side of his head, and lodged in his right shoulder. It fractured two vertebrae, which could leave Camacho paralyzed. And, late last night, Camacho also went into cardiac arrest and had to be stabilized by doctors.

"Camacho's condition is extremely delicate," a doctor said late last night. "His physical condition will help him but we will see."

What a sad story. Obviously, we wish Camacho a speedy recovery.
