A National Guard truck carrying relief supplies to victims of Hurricane Sandy in NYC struck and killed an 82 year old man this past Thursday. The 22-year-old soldier driving the vehicle, part of a six-truck convoy, says the man just jumped in front of the truck, while at least one conflicting report claims the truck was racing to catch a light when the man was struck.
