There are a lot of really cool perks that come along with playing pro basketball in New York City. One of those perks is that you get to do interviews with outlets like GQ and answer all sorts of questions about your experiences in the Big Apple. So, that's exactly what Deron Williams did recently when he chatted with the gentleman's magazine about a number of different things.

During the interview, he talked about how he texts with Jay-Z about everything from real estate (Jay helped him find a place to live in NY) to the Brooklyn Nets new uniforms. He talked about how he loves playing Call of Duty. And, he talked about which teammate he'd want with him in the event of a zombie take over in Brooklyn (Random? Yes. Awesome? YES!). But, our favorite portion of the Q&A took place when GQ asked D-Will if he experienced a "New York moment" during Hurricane Sandy. His answer was, well, interesting to say the least.

GQ: Was there a particular "New York moment" during the Hurricane? Did you see something that'd made you think, "That'd only happen in this city"?

WILLIAMS: Well, I don't know if you'd call this a "New York moment," but I definitely saw something I'd never seen before. The night all the power went out, I was standing out on my balcony, looking outside the window. Out of nowhere, I saw this big green flash across the sky. It wasn't lightning. It looked…It looked like a UFO.

GQ: Nice. What was it really?

WILLIAMS: A UFO. I'm telling you, man.

GQ: You really think it was a UFO?

WILLIAMS: I don't know, man. I'd never seen anything like that before.

We think the "UFO" in question was probably just the sight of transformers blowing up and lighting up the dark sky. But, we like D-Will's explanation for it much better. So, let's run with that. You can peep the rest of the Q&A over here.
