An F1 Party Planner Tried to Get a Mega-Yacht Airlifted to an Austin Area Lake for the Race

Money: a thing for wildly pissing away around the globe.

My Yacht Club is a group that throws manufacturer-sponsored yacht parties at all of the world's F1 events. The US Grand Prix in Austin is happening this weekend, and is the season's only land-locked race. This wasn't going to deter  the Lamborghini-sponsored party planners, who tried to arrange for the United States Army Air Corps to airlift a 150-foot mega-yacht into Austin's Lady Bird Lake. The Army told the group that they couldn't do it, but we're pretty sure that what they meant was "we can't be bothered with this crap."

The group is going to host its party at the opera house instead, and will serve the most expensive champagne available in North America: Comte de Mazeray, which is infused with 24 karat gold, because heavy metal poisoning is luxurious.
