Alfa Watch: Alfa Romeo Will Build a New Premium Sedan on the SRT Barracuda Platform

It might show up as soon as 2014.

We already know that the Alfa Romeo is planning a return to the USA, but that's all that has been happening for about as long as Dr. Dre has been planning Detox. Recently, however, things have begun to look more promising.

We now know that the Giulia sedan, which will be around the size of BMW's 3-Series and based on the SRT Barracuda's platform, will launch first in the USA, and that it is Sergio Marchionne's "sincere hope" that it will show up by 2014. Given Alfa Romeo's track record, we're not going to be holding our breath for a sincere hope.

The Giulia is still set to be followed up by the beautiful, mid-engined 4C and a new Spyder which will be built on the next generation Mazda MX-5 Miata platform.
