Last year Linsanity took New York and the NBA by storm. Jeremy Lin came off the end of the bench to save the Knicks season and Mike D'Antoni's job. He flourished in D'Antoni's run and gun offense, but most of his success happened without Carmelo and Amar'e on the floor together. Lin mainly ran the pick-and-roll with Tyson Chandler which took away part of Stat's game. The Knicks ran off seven straight with Lin at the helm and fans were up in arms when Dolan let him walk for nothing. Now he's in charge of the Rockets offense and even has a cute ticket stub in his honor. One Knick seems to agree with the front office's decision to let Lin go. While talking to the media during training camp, Tyson Chandler had this to say:

"Baron was hurt and Jeremy was a young point guard who was just learning and figuring out an offense. It was nothing against them and it was definitely nothing against Baron. Jeremy was a young point guard who was inexperienced, who brought a great light to the organization. But as far as being able to run the offense and putting players in the right position he just wasn’t there. We got some veteran point guards that are capable of doing that.”

Knicks fans hope he's right. Much has been made about the senior citizens club New York is running over there. But, to their credit, young teams rarely make it to the mountain top. Hopefully veteran leadership is just what the doctor ordered.
