The Tata Nano is the world's cheapest car; In India, a new one starts at around $2,700. Tata has decided that us Americans, with our wounded economy and smaller credit limits would like the opportunity to buy one, but it won't be nearly as cheap for us.
Tata isn't just gouging us though, the Nano will need a lot more standard safety equipment to be legal for sale in the USA. Still, you can expect to be able to purchase the tiny Indian runabout for under $10,000.
