Uh-oh, L.A. fans. Is there already trouble in Lakerland?

On Wednesday night, Kobe Bryant had to sit out the Lakers second-to-last preseason game against the Clippers because of what the team is calling a "strain" to his right foot. He was also ruled out of the Lakers last game of the preseason against the Kings on Thursday. And, if Kobe's injury doesn't improve over the course of the next few days, he's in real danger of missing the team's season-opener against the Dallas Mavericks next Tuesday.

"I don't know if he'll be ready," Lakers coach Mike Brown said late last night. "So yeah, I guess there is question. I'm just going to wait for [Lakers trainer]Gary Vitti to tell me he can play because there's nothing I can do about it until they release him anyway."

This could end up being a non-issue. But, it could also end up turning into a trend for the Lakers this season. So, Lakers fans better hope for the best and wish KB24 a speedy recovery. Because the absolute last thing they need is for their team's aging superstar to spend the first game of the year in street clothes.
