Fisker has issues. For one, there are some pesky battery defaults that lead to occasional explosions. Still, we've got a soft spot for the Californian upstart and are pleased by news that $100 million in funding has been secured to complete development on the Atlantic sedan.

Devised as a mid-size, the car will expanded Fisker's reach (it is more economical than the famed Karma) and help to further rejuvenate interest in American automotive innovation.
