Once upon a time, Larry Johnson was one of the brightest young stars in the NFL. During seven seasons with the Chiefs, he made the Pro Bowl twice and nearly broke the team's all-time rushing record, which was set by his predecessor Priest Holmes. But, in 2009, his career—and his life—started to fall apart after he used a homophobic slur on Twitter and called his coach out for having no NFL experience. From there, he spent brief stints with the Bengals, Redskins, and Dolphins, but never caught on and, eventually, stopped getting tryouts with teams in 2011.

It sounds like his post-NFL life hasn't been much better. Late last week, LJ was arrested on felony domestic violence charges after his girlfriend called police and claimed that he choked her inside their room at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. And now, although LJ denies committing a crime, the Clark County D.A. has formally charged him with one count of felony domestic battery. He could get as much as five years in jail and a $15,000 fine if he's found guilty.

That's a pretty crazy fall from grace, especially when you consider that, just a few years ago, Johnson was unstoppable on the football field.
