If we're entirely honest, we don't really care much about yachts. Yes, they're a symbol of uber luxury, and yes we'd love to say we own one, but we don''t. However, when $8 million worth of machinery sinks to the bottom of the sea, we can't help but take notice. Oracle USA Team's AC72 racing catamaran was recently capsized in San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge while training for the America's Cup event. The 72-foot vessel suffered significant damage, inlcuding a destroyed wing, with some crew being tossed into the bay by the sinking ship. An absolute tragedy.
