Today, the San Antonio Spurs unveiled their alternate uniform for the 2012 season. With practically every team opting for the city or team name emblazoned across the chest, the Spurs are switching it up drastically by placing their team logo in the center of the jersey with the player's number in the top right corner. Rick Pych, the Spurs Sports & Entertainment President of Business Operations, discussed the new look stating:

“The new design simply features our iconic ‘spur’ logo and it is positioned over the heart as it has such enormously deep roots with our team, fans and the entire community. It’s the first-ever NBA jersey logo without any writing or peripheral design on the front of the jersey and we’re very glad to be introducing this new use of the classic icon of the Spurs to our fans.”

If you're interested in copping the new Spurs alternate uni, it will be available in the Spurs Fan Shop and NBAStore.com on Saturday, October 6th.
