Looks like Jason Terry isn't the only NBA player out here guaranteeing championships. About a month after the Boston Celtics guard came out and made his bold prediction, there's another sharpshooter running his mouth. This time, it's New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith and he actually agreed to be filmed while he made his off-the-wall championship prediction.

"If we settle for anything less," he told the New York Post yesterday, "we already start off losing."

He also raised the stakes by naming a couple of teams that he thinks the Knicks could beat in order to secure the 2013 'chip. "Lakers, Heat," he said. "Whoever."

These predictions are always a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it's great that Smith (and Terry) are as confident as they are in their teams. On the other, do they really need to put a target on their backs by making these kinds of predictions? Guess we'll see who's right when the season starts. Although, we do have to admit that we're not betting on other one of them right now.
