A bunch of people who invented and plan to sell a vent hood designed to trap particulate matter from charbroiling hamburgers just released a study that shows how a single charbroiled hamburger pollutes as much as an 18 wheeler driving for 143 miles. While the study does cite another study that claims that charbroiled hamburgers are the second largest source of particulate pollution in the South Coast Air Basin, niether of the studies mention the chemical make-up of the particles.

What do you think, environmental altruism or shady science?
