It's impossible to reminisce about the career of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar without remembering his contributions in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey. While he donned the purple and gold from 1975 to 1989, Kareem helped lead the Lakers to 5 NBA Championships, as well as adding 3 league MVP titles to his name. Now, in what may be seen as a long time coming for the All-Time leading scorer, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the Lakers are planning to unveil a statue of Abdul-Jabbar outside of the Staples Center sometime during the 2012-13 season. No official date for the unveiling has been finalized.
