After a third quarter explosion, and Kevin Durant hitting 8 of his 10 three point attempts against Argentina, the Americans head into the quarterfinals as the favorite to win the gold in London. Their first opponent Australia, who have the second leading scorer in the games in Patty Mills, will try their best to make the final score respectable.

Why You Should Watch: Usain Bolt is sitting pretty in first place as he enters the semifinals. Sure, he may not have the best time overall with fellow Jamaicans Yohan Blake and Warren Weir finishing with better times, but if you've watched his record breaking 100m race on Sunday, you'd know that having the best time going in doesn't mean much to Bolt, who has that extra gear to propel him to victory.

Why You Should Watch: Coming off of a 88-82 loss on Monday to Brazil, Spain now takes on France in this quarterfinals match up. Falling into the bracket that avoids Team USA until the finals, Spain appears to have the easier road to the gold medal game, but we don't think so. Having to go through Lithuania or Russia, teams who can beat them, and facing France first, Spain will be tested in the early going and might not make it to a rematch of the Beijing Olympics.

Why You Should Watch: It's starting not to look like a sure win for defending gold medalist Veronica Campbell-Brown in the 200m. VCB, who finished just third in her semifinal heat, is looking up at the competition instead of down, going into the finals. Usual suspects like Allyson Felix, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Sanya Richard-Ross are still in the field, but now VCB has to worry about Murielle Ahoure, and Mariya Ryemyen, which might be too much to overcome for Campbell-Brown to retain her gold.
