On June 1, the New York Mets had just pitched the first no-hitter in franchise history and were six games over .500 and a game out of first place. A nifty 28-45 swoon later, and they now find themselves in familiar Mets territory: completely and utterly irrelevant in August. Well, they're still a little relevant: they're perfect fodder for WFAN's Mike Francesa to go on one of the all-time great sports radio rants.
