Sounds expensive.

Designers at the Royal College of Art want to completely change the experience of riding underground on a train. They no longer want long boring trips that force you to do one of three things: Listen to music, read, or memorize the faces of everybody else on the train and try to figure out what their lives are like based on their shoes.

The concept is called "Canopy" and it would eliminate the feeling of being trapped in smelly, rat-infested tunnels. Instead of looking at the ceiling, riders would watch electronic paper that mimcs and reflects exactly what is going on outside above ground. The program would even show stars at night and rain drops when it's stormy. Amrita KulkarniEmma Laurin, and Matt Bachelor are currently looking for the first investment to fund the project.
