The Pittsburgh Pirates are a proud and winning franchise. *beat* *multiple beats* OK, done laughing yet? Now, where were we? Oh right: The Pittsburgh Pirates are a proud and winning franchise. No lie. Did you know, for instance, that the Pirates have more franchise wins than this team that plays in the Bronx called the Yankees? It's true, the Bucs lead the Bombers in all-time wins: 9,950 to 9,841 (in 19 more seasons, but still!). Sure, they haven't had a winning season since George Bush was president (the old one, not the retard), but as we approach Labor Day, Pittsburgh is in the middle of the National League wild card race, just three games out of the second spot as of this morning. To help spur the Bucs on, we're taking a stroll down memory lane, with images from their 1909, 1925, 1971, and 1979 World Series-winning clubs. We. Are. Family!
