Gabby Douglas might be America's sweetheart right now. But, just a few years ago, she was seriously considering whether or not to continue her gymnastics career after getting bullied at her home gym in Virginia Beach. In fact, things were so bad at one point that she says some of her own teammates referred to her as a "slave" when it was time for the team to scrape the bars in the gym.

"They're like, 'Why doesn't Gabby do it? She's our slave,'" Douglas told Oprah on last night's episode of Oprah's Next Chapter. "I definitely felt isolated. I felt, 'Why am I deserving this? Is it because I'm black?' Those thoughts would go through my mind."

Fortunately, Douglas didn't quit gymnastics. And, she went on to do something pretty epic. We wonder what her former teammates think now.
