It looks like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh made the right choice when they decided to band together in Miami. But what if we told you that LeBron wasn't the only member of the Heat Big 3 came very close to signing elsewhere back in the summer of 2010. As a native of Chicago, Wade had a difficult time turning down the Bulls after an emotional visit with the franchise.
In an interview with Chicago Tribune Live, D-Wade reveals just how difficult it was to turn down his hometown two years ago.
“It was very tough, it was one of the hardest decision I had to make in my life,” Wade explained.
“I’m a Chicago guy and I grew up idolizing the Chicago Bulls, idolizing Michael Jordan and wanted to wear that jersey. So the day I went for the Chicago visit and they gave me the No. 3 jersey, I mean, that day messed me up. I went back home and I had the jersey on and, I mean, I turned into a kid again.”
Maaaan, the mental visual of Dwyane Wade wearing a Bulls #3 jersey must be tough to hear for some fans. After all, could you imagine the type of damage a duo of Derrick Rose and Wade could've done to the league? It's almost enough to bring the Chi-Town faithful to tears...oh wait, we spoke too soon.
