It was 7 A.M. on Thursday, one day before the Jets' first preseason game against Cincinnati, when head coach Rex Ryan received a phone call. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was on the other end with a request: please don't run the Wildcat offense with Tim Tebow on his team.

Maybe Rex felt like being nice that day or perhaps it was that Ryan and Lewis go way back to their Baltimore Ravens days when they were on the same staff, but the Jets head coach agreed to play a "Wildcat-free" game. Tebow went 4 for 8 passing with 27 yards and managed to rush for 34 yards. Still, Gang Green lost last night's game against the Bengals, 17-6. Maybe they should've broken out the offensive set after all.
