A lot of information regarding cars can be gleamed from the internet — if it couldn't, we wouldn't spend so much time putting it there — but there's more to a car than horsepower, size, and fuel economy. Before you buy it you should sit in the damn thing. Even if you just bought a car with a 750hp engine that gets 68mpg and pleasures the driver at the push of a button, you'll still hate it if the seats are uncomfortable and the steering wheel is too far away. A car is like a suit in that it needs to fit, but it is unlike a suit in that you can't pay someone $15 to take it in on the sides.

This is why we're shocked and appalled that 11.4% of new cars buyers don't go for a test drive. Do they seriously just buy whatever Consumer Reports tells them to?
