Nobody expected MPGomatic to post a 25 minute documentary on the rise of the American V8 engine in professional drifting, but the video was awesome so we don't care. 

Professional drifting started off in Japanese cars powered by turbocharged four-pots, but over the years the sport has switched almost exclusively to American V8s as the powerplant of choice. The field is now dominated by Chevy LS series engines and Ford Coyotes

We only have one question, as this was MPGomatic that made the video: what was the fuel economy of the cars as they were drifting?
